THE CLIMB: Scouting Locations For A Short Film
April 19th, 2010 | Posted by in 17 West | Filmmaking | The ClimbSunday, Eric and I went out to scout the remaining locations for The Climb.
Scouting locations for a short film can be tricky but scouting with limited funding is even pretty challenging. You have to keep so many factors in mind when you are selecting locations for a movie.
It has to have all the elements the director (me) wants in addition to a specific visual look, technical requirements and overall convenience when it comes to work flow.
Finding the perfect location definitely fires up the imagination and shot ideas immediately begin to flow.
A perfect example is a street Eric showed me that not only led to me changing the location of a certain scene but actually caused me to change how the scene is staged. Perfect.
Below is a pic of a possible location we will be using to film 2 scenes involving our main actor on our first day of shooting.
Sweet.
