The Climb Short Film

There’s something about meeting and talking about cameras and lighting and general logistics that makes a movie feel real.

Last week our make-up artist Alex Rotundo and I spent some time designing the look if the leads tattoo.

This morning I met with Dominika Dittwald, our director of photography to go over the overall look and feel of the movie.

She was the D.P on Playing Through and brings a lot of creativity to the movie. I’m very happy she’s agreed to shoot The Climb.

Things are really movig forward now. Our cast and crew won’t be getting together until May but I feel it’s the beginning of the end for pre-production.

There are still several major hurdles we have to clear but this morning’s meeting cleared a lot of things up.

Dom and I spent a lot of time discussing her views of the story and how she sees the film.  She had a lot of interesting opinions about where to take the script and the movie is better because she is on board.

She is great to work with because she truly wants the movie to look great and has the technical experience to pull it off.  What’s the next step?

A week or so off from the production before the snow disappears entirely and we can begin scouting our locations!

Then it’s our rehearsal day in mid April with a few more meetings peppered in between.

Can’t wait!
