All Time Best: Random Creepy Character

There have been thousands of creepy movie characters in film history.  Characters that make your skin crawl.  People you would never want to meet on the street.

For me, the all time best creepy character dates all the way back to 1992.

The movie was The Bodyguard starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston and the lesser known Tony Pierce who plays:

Creepy Blonde Stalker Guy

Who, strangely enough, is credited in the movie as…  Wait for it…

DAN!

I expected him to have a generic name like Stalker or Crazy Guy.  I didn’t expect… Dan.

Dan: The Creepy Blonde Stalker Guy.

Sadly, he has very little screen time in the movie but when he does show up it’s incredible.  You can’t help but laugh at this character.  True, he’s as creepy as they come but you can’t tell me you didn’t howl when Frank Farmer kicks him in the face during a concert.

He shows up out of no where and just gets creamed.  Nice.

I think fans of the movie will no doubt remember him for his infamous catch phrase:

Nooooooooooo

Today, a tribute to Dan: The Stalker.  One of the most random and creepy movies characters of all time.

PS: I looked for the face kicking scene.  You’ll just have to find a DVD and relive the moment.

The Town Has It All

Review: The Town Has It All (The Town 2010 Movie)

I was desperate for another action movie with a good story since Inception is the only film that really brought it this summer.

Finally, I got my wish.

The Town

First of all, The Town is one of the best movies of the year and should be up their on voters ballots when Oscars roll around.  Above that, it’s also one of the best heist movies I’ve ever seen.

To summarize, I absolutely loved The Town.

Review: The Town Ben Affleck

The best action movies ALWAYS have incredible stories to match the guns, explosions and brawls.

What I loved about The Town was how well the heist and chase sequences integrated into the story.  When you care about the people involved it makes the action that much more exciting and interesting.

Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner and Jon Hamm steal the show here. Every 5 or 6 minutes it felt like another bomb got dropped.  Another twist in the tale.  Gradually, the stakes continue to rise.  By the time you I saw those creepy nun masks come out, I already had the film in my top 5 for 2010. It’s that good.

Then the action starts and it’s every bit as entertaining as the story itself.

  • Ruthless gun fights.
  • Gritty car chases.
  • Vicious stand offs.
  • Explosions.
  • Punches.

…  Nice.

The Town is exactly what I needed after a summer of disappointments.  Like The Departed, it’s a look into a fascinating world that will stick with you.

I think it’s a lock for a best picture nomination especially now that they nominate 10 movies. I don’t think it will win but it’s such a well made movie that it deserves to be honored.

People will say that Ben Affleck is back.  They will say Jeremy Renner and Jon Hamm played incredible supporting roles.  They will say The Town is one of the best films of the year.

I couldn’t agree more.

The Town kicked ass.

PS: Honestly, how awesome is this trailer!

All Time Worst Movie Moments

Sometimes terrible movies deserve a second chance.

If you could go back and watch any bad movie again, which one would it be?

Going back and revisiting an awful movie could actually result in a better appreciation for it.

I’m not holding my breath because my pick is:

Super Mario Bros

Yuck.

I’ve only seen this movie once but if it’s as terrible as I remember, I may be in for a long night.

How bad is that trailer first of all?

Truthfully, I’m not even planning on seeing it again any time soon.  I just think it would be interesting to see it again. Having said that, I’m not in any hurry after checking out the trailer again.

Super Mario Bros movie 1993

What the hell is that thing?  A Goomba?

I specifically remember biking to the movie and renting this movie.  I love Super Mario games.

Every. Single.  One of them.

After watching the film adaptation, I remember feeling betrayed.  It was nothing like the most beloved video game franchise of all time.

Still…  I wouldn’t mind seeing it again.

Super Mario Bros Movie 1993

Now that I’m older and wiser, I know that attempting a live action Mario Bros movie was an awful idea from the start.

Still they tried.

A Super Mario Bros movie.  Nice.

I’ll give them credit for that.  Why not give it a shot?

PS: Yoshi looks…  stupid.

Have any terrible movie picks?  Any you wouldn’t mind seeing again?  Why not give them a second chance?
