Welcome to the first Rainy Sunday Special Edition! These types of features are normally limited to certain types of movies but are always dedicated to just movies. Rainy Sundays just evolved beyond that into the world of television. So for this week’s Rainy Sunday post, I’d like to tell you a story about my favorite show, my most cherished DVD box set and a new feature on this site.
Last week, the world got to see the Seinfeld reunion. I’d never seen Curb Your Enthusiasm until this season but seeing the Seinfeld gang back together again was pretty awesome. It was a great way to have a ‘reunion’. (I also learned that Curb is a pretty funny show.)

Without a doubt, Seinfeld is probably my favorite shows of all time. Fresh Prince is very close second. Anyone can turn on their televisions at any time of day and find an episode. I’m actually proud to be a part of a generation of Seinfeld ‘quoters’. I truly believe there is a perfect Seinfeld quote for every social situation. My friends and I are always pulling out random quotes and moments from that show and we aren’t the only ones.
A few years ago, I solidified my love of Seinfeld forever. I had just won a few hundred dollars in a screenwriting contest and I feel that when money is won, it should be spent. So when I got my cash the number 1 item on my wish list was the complete Seinfeld box set. It’s now one of the jewels of my movie collection.
My job editing pro sports essentially means long hours and late nights. Long ago I realized you have to have a ‘goto’ program to watch before bed. Seinfeld is that show for me and I’ve watched every episode from the pilot to the series finale straight through on three separate occasions.
This week, in light of Curb’s reunion episode, I started to watch Seinfeld from the beginning again. However, this time will be a little different. This time, when I reach the end, I’ll be posting my top 10 episodes and top 10 quotes on the blog. Breaking down 180 hilarious episodes won’t be easy but it’ll definitely be entertaining.
What’s your favorite episode of all time?
Stay tuned over the next few months for more of my tribute to one of the funniest shows of all time.
PS: For those of you keeping score, I did in fact just add an entire series to the Rainy Sunday list. No big deal.
PS#2: Don’t expect this list next week. It takes a while to watch 180 episodes when I only really get through 1 or 2 before falling a sleep.
